Two carbon black grades are available. Our standard grade is a lamp black derived from a liquid feedstock and gives a broad particle size range. The premium product is a gas black with an ultrafine 25 nanometre average primary particle size. Lampblack is essentially very finely divided carbon formed by collecting the soot from partially burnt materials. When handling this material wet, it is advised to add a percentage of alcohol to reduce the surface tension.
